It takes hard work to reach your fitness goals
One of the things that really fires me up is people thinking that there is an easy way to get fit and healthy, that there must be some short cut to get what you want in health and fitness.
Training Fitness is hard work
Training is hard work, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
No doubt I’ve been competitive my whole life. Not outwardly but internally.
I always believe in putting my best foot forward and making sure I do my best in all aspects of my life. And this makes me feel good and happy.
I’ve had people say to my why would you want to work so hard? What’s the point?
Well, you make it your own point.
Many of our members do this. You make the training hard, you do it and you make it worth it for yourself.
You create little goals, reach them, congratulate yourself, feel good then make more goals to get that same feeling. Training hard is worth something if it makes you feel good about yourself.
You can’t cheat training
Training hard also can never be cheated.
You can’t take shortcuts, you can’t take a magic pill which makes you better, simple persistence, hard work, and dedication are what’s going to get you there. Your tenacity to keep moving forward and coming back day in and day out is what gets the results and there is no way around it.
This is why I love the feeling of being fit, because I know there is no other way to get there than by my own sweat, blood, and tears (literally).
Now, this may sound terrible, but think about what this means by today's standards in a world where convenience is king, and people seem ready to take the quickest route despite the outcome.
Let’s take the example of convenience food. Yes, it (arguably) tastes good, it’s quick, easy and gets you fed. Eating fresh, wholesome foods, on the other hand, takes time to prepare, cook and buy.
But this is the food which is going to nourish you for the long term, helping you to avoid lifestyle-related diseases like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
It’s also going to give you better hair, skin, nail, more energy, less bloating, keep you healthy and improve many aspects of your life you might not even realise.
My point in you know which one is better for you long term and in the now. Healthy eating. And it is rewarding! You feel good and better for it!
In our modern world everything is too convenient
There are so many shortcuts in today's life that we can take, the latest weight loss craze guaranteed to make you lose 5kg in 5 days and the newest diet pill promising a slender waistline.
At the end of the day these fads never really work because you put in the smallest amount of work possible to get there.
You’re not fit, healthy, strong or capable of what life demands of you. Losing weight properly takes time, effort and hard work, and people still demand short cuts.
My thoughts would be because everything now days is so convenient people are used to having things happen in a matter of minutes.
Except Fitness
But fitness or weight loss take time and effort, something many people seem to have forgotten how to do.
I believe we were made to work hard and be physically active. Your body is made to move and move well. People look at athletes like aliens, like they are some form of extra human.
But we should all be capable of these feats, feats that life demands of us. We have just forgotten what it is like to work hard physically and look after ourselves.
No one said it was going to be easy, but it is definitely worth it.
If you're ready to train hard, I want to work with you!
