Why I won’t be selling you ‘summer Bodies are made in the winter’ this year…
Every year in Winter, the gyms are meant to feel the pinch of memberships dwindling…
It seems your bed and Netflix are a much better Winter companion than the cold steel of the gym
Right now you might see a lot of fitness ads claiming “Summer bodies are made in the Winter”…
And honestly, in previous years, I’ve been one of those owners preaching it -
Heck I even wrote a blog about it and I’m so sorry for doing that to you!
But not this year…
The statement itself seems harmless, it implies that you need to keep working out during the colder months so you look great in Summer…
Which is fine, of course you want to look good for Summer!
Society has told you, you have to be bikini ready each Spring every year of your life…
Of course that’s what you should want…
To train through Winter purely to look good in Summer…
Because if you don’t train, you’re not going to get that bikini selfie you deprived yourself of last year…
And the year before…
I get it…
Every year when I was younger, Winter would roll around and I’d promise myself this year I would be Summer ready…
Every year, I would feel like a failure because I never, ever felt like my ‘Summer Body’ was good enough…
So, I finally just trained because I wanted to get stronger…
Because I wanted to be faster…
I wanted to develop my skills and literally just be better…
Which sounds boring, it’s not as sexy, or as glamorous as a summer body…
It’s not seen to be as desirable as a Summer Body by society…
But
It means so much more to me than a “bikini body” ever did.
The MOST important facet of training is to,
Build your self-confidence in yourself
To actually LOVE the body you have,
And continually improving your performance.
These are the 3 keys to being happy with yourself and also enjoy training!
If you do this, your Summer Body will take care of itself…
